Finding your purpose
In life, why is it that some people reach their potential, yet others seem to fall short? Are those that succeed luckier or just work harder? And for those that fall short is it because they don’t work as hard?
All of the above can contribute to whether someone succeeds or fails. As the saying goes, “The harder you work, the luckier you get”. And this is because, the harder you work at something, the better you will become. And when you become very good at something success will be within reach.
But what if we dig deeper? Many people fall short of reaching their potential because they are striking in the wrong zone.
As an example, if you wanted to be a world-class basketballer but are only 5ft tall, it is going to be very difficult to be the best in a sport where height is often a factor for success. However, it doesn’t mean you cannot be good at that sport – you just may never reach the top no matter how hard you try.
In this scenario, potential is likely to be limited. If another sport is chosen, where height may not be a limiting factor, and the same dedication and passion (purpose) is applied, the chances of success are far greater.
It is important to remember that you cannot fulfil someone’s else’s purpose. You must determine your own purpose and when you do you will unlock potential you never thought possible.
